Objective

According to our statutes, the objective of the foundation is:

The organization of cultural events in the broadest sense of the word; and furthermore all that in the broadest sense is related to the above or that can be conducive to it.

The focal points of the current policy plan

In the period 2025-2028, Explore the North will be included in the ‘cultural basic infrastructure’ of the Netherlands (BIS) as a development institution. The policy plan for these years can be found HERE.

The remuneration policy for the board of directors

A simple majority vote at a meeting where each board member is present or represented may be used to decide whether to reimburse travel and accommodation expenses, or any other expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.

Compensation Policy for Employees

Two individuals are employed on a permanent basis, while the remainder of the year-round employees are engaged as self-employed contractors with the organization. Both types of remuneration are based on the Collective Labor Agreement for Pop Stages & Festivals (‘Poppodia & festivals’). The remuneration for self-employed workers is determined based on the expected hours of work and the job description, in accordance with fair practice, trust, sustainability, and transparency. The remuneration for volunteers is determined based on the regulations set forth by the Belastingdienst.
