Explore the North is one of the partners of the northern talent development network Station Noord, a network organization focused on the development of performing arts talent in the northern Netherlands.
Seventeen partner organizations join forces and combine their strengths to expand opportunities for emerging makers. In doing so, they support and guide these Northern talents, giving them the space to further develop their practice. Station Noord offers artists opportunities to shape their artistic dreams.
During our festival, we organize a hub in collaboration with Station Noord where talent, professionals, and audiences come together. Within the Explore the North festival weekend, we provide space for new work by Station Noord makers, spread across the main programme, the festival hub De Stadskas, and the expeditions. These makers work across a range of disciplines, from performative biographical work to multidisciplinary dance performances and much more. Sometimes these are fully developed productions; at other times they take the form of artistic research (works in progress). Within Station Noord, we collaborate with Michelle Samba and Gaja Caruso.
