What happens when a gentle activist, a warm-hearted storyteller, and a diva set out to uncover the origins of the world? In this literary punk performance, Mees van Rijswijk, Johannes Lievens, and Marieke Ornelis return to the very beginning. They watch videos about the production of blood sausage, take an IKEA stool back to the Carpathian Mountains, and dissect the Old Testament. Through a mix of stories, songs, and poetry, they grapple with one central question: where did it all go wrong?
An improvised version of a consumer watchdog programme, looking beyond the production processes behind food and everyday products. A search for answers in conspiracy theories, myths, and gossip. PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT is a vibrant attempt to question contemporary power structures by zooming in on the smallest details.
Who?
HYPERPOËZIE (formerly Drie Dagen Fris) is the literary collective of Mees van Rijswijk, Marieke Ornelis, and Johannes Lievens. Armed with pens and a drum machine, they set out to win over your heart, your language, and your imagination. HYPERPOËZIE’s work is an indictment of compromise and a poetic manifesto for finding joy while everything around us falls apart.
