De Schrijfclub is a club. For writers. And for people who accidentally bought a notebook and now feel a calling emerging.
We make things. Texts mostly, but sometimes also chaos. We talk, we recite, we sigh deeply and dramatically at blank pages, and we write, of course. On rattling typewriters in the café of Podium Explore, on laptops with 37 open tabs, or in notebooks that also contain shopping lists and existential jokes.
We give each other tips. We experiment. We fail with style. We make a zine. We share the highs and lows of writing life. Writer’s block? Yeah, that bastard walks right in here too without knocking. But it’s nice that you can stare at it together.
We talk about style, about rhythm, about why every first draft smells like despair. About how the fuck you end up at a publisher. Is there a secret door? A password? Do you have to whisper “manuscript” three times under a full moon?
In short: we write, laugh, doubt, delete, start over, and pretend we know what we’re doing.
