Just a few more days before we change the clocks and our nighttime rhythms are permanently replaced by our summer desires. But this week we still celebrate the Writing Club night in winter time!
During this evening, you are welcome to come and listen to freelance journalist and writer Anna Lillioja. She will take you through an exclusive preview of her forthcoming book, “Why Do We Work?” (Overamstel Publishers, May 1, ’25). About the deeper meaning of work in our modern lives. After that you just want to read her book, believe us! Forget about reality and also get carried away this evening on the readings of multi-talented Night Butterfly: musician, writer, illustrator and DJ.
Besides Words on Wednesday, Poetry Circle and many other touring words through the Netherlands, poet, spoken word artist and soft-activist Mees van Rijswijk will pleasantly fill our ears. Henk Rigter takes us through the writing process of his first book about his trip to South Africa in a rattling van and lets us hear promising excerpts. Preston Losack shares new parts of his epic. A hundred years from now they will say, “This was a benchmark in the history of poets in the Netherlands!!!”. And who knows, the evening may have another surprise but of course we won’t say anything about that because hey … then it won’t be a surprise anymore … See you Friday!
