Together with Leeuwarden City of Literature we organise Hoge Woorden (the stage for spoken word in Friesland), masterclasses in reciting for writers and poets and more
Through Station Noord we mentor artists in their artistic development. We give these artists the chance to showcase their development during Explore the North Festival.
Jonge Schrijvers (Young Writers), the lesson program for the very youngest aspiring writers, is our co-project together with MEEUW Jonge theatermakers. Each year the participants develop performances that are showcased on festivals like Oerol and during our own Explore the North Festival.
At Oerol festival we have presented our projects and productions for several years now with a multitude of different performances and showcases. As main program items and in our own hub during the festival in the West-End Theater.
Working with de Popfabryk dates all the way back to the creation of Explore the North as a festival. Every year we present multiple projects like IT DEEL with Popfabryk during the year and at Explore the North Festival
Together with our friends from Brussel we co-produce diverse projects build bridges between Flemisch and Frisian makers, to create projects like De Verwonderkamer. Other projects we developed together are Leegstandsproza, BCC (an artistic blinddate) and Citybooks.
Together with Wintertuin, we have co-produced such things as Dictieland. Wintertuin is also a recurring guest during our festival programming.
This year, we presented the international performing arts festival PAFFF together with De Harmonie and Arcadia.
Ever since 2018, we have continued to present a number of international productions in collaboration with Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2028 (previously 2018).
Together with Zaal 3 of the National Theater in The Hague, for instance, we formed a residency for the LORCA performance, which will premiere later this year. De Poezieboys are regular guests.
With Tryater, at present, we are organizing masterclasses in performance for writers.
VLAM21 includes a diverse set of literary organizations across the Netherlands. From international literature festivals to education, from production houses to venues—all under one roof.
We are partners for makers Tim Helderman and Thom Boonstra who are tinkering with interdisciplinary work within KultuerKollektyf’s development project, Tweespraak.
Several components of De Stadskas programming in November are done together with dbieb.
