Drie Dagen Fris - In den beginne was er veel vraag

A literary punk evening about blood sausage, babies, and concrete

What happens when a soft activist, a sympathetic storyteller, and a diva set out together in search of the origin of the world? In this literary punk evening, Johannes Lievens, Mees van Rijswijk, and Marieke Ornelis return to the beginning. They watch videos about the production of blood sausage, dissect the first testament, and examine a fragment of the sun. Through a mix of stories, songs, and poetry, they tackle the question: where did it go wrong? An improvised “quality inspection service,” looking beyond the production processes of foodstuffs and other consumer goods. A search for answers in conspiracy theories, myths, and gossip. In the Beginning There Was Much Demand is a colorful attempt to question contemporary power structures by zooming in on the details.

DRIE DAGEN FRIS is the literary collective of Johannes Lievens, Marieke Ornelis, and Mees van Rijswijk: three young makers united by their love of experimenting with different forms on stage. They believe that beautiful things happen when paths that seem miles apart suddenly cross. In this way, the stage can become a meeting place for a drag queen and a doubter, a rabbit and nationalism, or an angry talk show host and a sprig of thyme. The work of DRIE DAGEN FRIS is an indictment of compromise, a poetic manifesto for having fun while everything collapses.
