Where does Google Streetview stop? And what can you find there? What stories are there in those places? These are questions that artist Lotte Lola Vermeer researched for her Poetic Powerpoint Presentation, coming Friday in Podium Explore! A Dutch premiere collaboration with, among others, Vonk & zonen from Antwerp.
It’s already a part of a larger, long-term program series: in the coming years we’ll introduce you ( at Podium Explore) to many more stories by artists from Flanders.
Exchange of work by (young) makers
At Podium Explore, we regularly present performances with a Flemish connection, and we are going to expand that. In addition, our own (Frisian and Northern) makers are actually going out to stages and festivals in cities such as Antwerp, Brussels and Bruges. By doing so, we hope to establish an important and lasting exchange in the coming years throughout the whole Dutch-speaking area with partners such as deBuren (Brussels) and Vonk & sons (Antwerp). For example, the collective Drie Dagen Fris (the literary pop stars formerly known as KRT) will be performing at the festival Vers Vuur in Antwerp in May. We will announce more about the exciting residencies and approach this group is planning soon!
