Explore the North was a partner and coordinator of this development program for poets and spoken word artists. From Friesland, Preston Losack and Nicole van den Berg took part in the program. Together, they were given the opportunity to further develop their craft as writers, including through workshops led by various professionals from the field. Over the course of ten months, they learned the finer points of the profession.
On Friday, February 16, 2024, the final presentation of the #NieuweStukken development program took place at De Westerkerk. We saw thirteen snippets from texts written by different makers for this program. These were performed by a cast consisting of Boyd Grund, Krisjan Schellingerhout, Fransesca Pichel, and Rosa Weekers, and directed by Dionne Verwey. With this presentation, the approximately eight-month program came to an end. Many thanks to all partners, participants, and creators for this wonderful conclusion!
