The 2024 Jonge Schrijvers of Explore the North & MEEUW jonge theater makers have created another Zine: Kill Your Darlings! The Zine can be viewed online below.
Kill Your Darlings was created by the Young Writers. Guusje van Kalker, Djoeke Graswinckel, Mayte Veenstra, Charlotte Westra, Rixt Siderius, Pieter van Aalst and Iris Dicke write about the voices that are being deleted, voices they miss and about language. There is a list of ideas and phrases that didn’t make it into the zine. There are trees and beetles, and poems in Frisian. There is a manual for loners and a mysterious story about a black pyramid. There is an inner critic, and an absence of someone who is thought of again and again at 10:30 at night. You slowly find out: there are also darlings worth reading.
