Folkskeuken x Folkscafé

Folkskeuken

Folkskeuken (Folk Kitchen) is dining together at long tables, facing old and new friends. During each edition, a host prepares, at the side of our own cook, his or her favorite dish from their own culture. After all, dishes that remind us of where we come from are a universal treasure from the past and a recognizable starting point for conversation. Perhaps not every visitor knows the specific food, but almost everyone knows the emotion associated with a dish, something that reminds you of home. Grandma’s apple pie, the pasta your father had perfected, your great-aunt’s secret humus recipe.

Folkscafé meet-ups

Folkscafé meet-ups focus on meeting and connecting. Meeting and connecting with people of your own culture, which makes you feel at home far from home. But also meeting and connecting with people from other cultures, each with a unique story that broadens your view of the world. Each meet-up focuses on a theme. Think games, creativity, poems or music. But also stories from the past and the present, where people may share their (personal) story, we engage in conversation and search for that which connects us. It is a place where you can make contacts in an approachable and unforced way, where you can be curious and perhaps make new friends.
