Joost Oomen, De Poezieboys & Explore the North - Blabbermouth

Blabbermouth, a waterfall of Speech

Jack Spicer was a San Francisco poet who wanted to understand gibberish. How? He placed random bar patrons on a box in the corner and challenged them to throw out every wild thought, every obscene word or primal sound, every phrase that came to mind. The best gibberish won a prize. During this year’s Oerol festival, Joost Oomen, Jos Nargy and Joep Hendrikx picked up where Spicer’s research left off with the aim of finding out how language behaves when you strip it of proper grammar, the urge to communicate, and good decency. The result? An absurd, poetic, wild-eyed speech waterfall. The name of this waterfall of speech  — Blabbermouth

Oerol-goers who saw last year’s festival hit, LORCA, know that Blabbermouth is a must-see.

Other versions were in the programs at Explore the North 2017 and 2019, and now they’re returning with a newly-developed Blabbermouth

Blabbermouth is a production of Explore the North, Joost Oomen and the Poezieboys.
