‘Have you tried turning it off and back on again?’

The rebirth of the live radio play – on steroids. That’s REBOOT, the latest production by performance collective URLAND. What starts out as an informative lecture gradually turns into an existential struggle in which the story itself takes the lead. It’s up to master storytellers Thomas Dudkiewicz and Tomas Loos to re-cage the beast. The creators take you on a live journey of (re)discovery.

They’re looking for the beginning because where there’s an end, there’s got to be a beginning…right?

But is it really a fresh start if you’re the sum of all your experiences? What does it really mean to be an artist in today’s world, where technology and AI are advancing rapidly? Well, still a lot. Last year, URLAND brought the performance The Last Chapters to our festival, complete with a binaural sound system. For those who aren’t audiophiles, the system creates a kind of three-dimensional sound experience through your headphones. REBOOT also uses this technique to take the listener to new and exciting places in search of the Story of Stories. In the meantime: reboot, restart, rebirth. Repeat.

“Reboot unfolds as a very intelligently rigged theatrical labyrinth, in which the creators undermine and question their own craft, but do so so skillfully and craftily that they make a case for it at the same time.”– Theaterkrant
