Rozige maanvissen (“Rosy Sunfish”) is an interdisciplinary performance about grief, a poignant search for comfort, acceptance and life. Free improvisations alternate with sprightly tangos and serene choral melodies. It’s a performance in which poetry, music and theater merge to offer new perspectives on such a heavily-charged subject as death.
The poems come from the poetry collection of the same name by poet Sytse Jansma, with which he won the C. Buddingh’ Prize in early June. (The award for the best Dutch-language debut of the year). A first impression of the show was given on Sunday, June 23 in Podium Explore, and the full performance will take place during the Explore the North Festival.
This production is a collaboration between Stichting Noorderwind Muziekproducties and poet Sytse Jansma, made possible by Provinsje Fryslân and Explore the North.
