Before you know it, they’ll be playing at Eurosonic, in a European capital, or on a village square somewhere in Slovenia.
But first, they’re here — in het Stadshart: a lineup of promising artists from the NOORD network, the collective that prepares emerging musicians for a professional career in music.
The NOORD Artist Showcase is a snapshot of the next wave of talent from the program lines Go!, Hit the North, and Up North. These are artists playing a home match one last time before taking off with fresh sounds, killer stage presence, and ambitions that stretch far beyond the Dutch borders.
Come watch and listen — if only because a year from now, you’ll probably be paying good money to see these local heroes headlining a main stage.
NOORD is a collaboration between Popfabryk, Kunst en Cultuur Drenthe, POPgroningen, Noordstaat, and Eurosonic Noorderslag. Together, they are committed to sustainable talent development for young and emerging creators in the hip-hop and pop culture scenes. In collaboration with Friesland Pop.
About het Stadshart
From November 5 to 23, Podium Explore transforms into het Stadshart.
Every afternoon, a different local scene or community hosts a DIY session under the name Studio Stadshart. One day you might be soldering guitar pedals, the next you’ll learn how to make your own sourdough starter. And in the evenings, you can unwind with live bands, talks, and performances!

Is there food too?
Yes! Pop-up restaurant De Voedselbar serves lunch, dinner, and all-day snacks. So het Stadshart is basically your new favorite café — but one where there’s always something cool happening to see and experience. It’s also the perfect place to connect with local creative scenes, neighbors, friends, and communities from the region.
