During The Frisian Resurrection Show, we breathe new life into the work of five deceased female Frisian poets
Or well, not just “breathe”, call it a passionate French kiss. Five contemporary literary voices grab the work of their female predecessors by the collar and pull them from the grave for a literary danse macabre. What did the poetry of the Frisian women who dared to write long ago sound like? Was it read and heard, or not at all? And why? Hey, you dead one, we’re not done talking yet!
A fiery homage to the Frisian language, to women in Friesland (and the world), and above all: to life, death, and everything in between that gives meaning to our existence.
Afterwards, you can stick around and dance to records spun by one of the DJs from the FFataal collective.
About the Stadshart
From November 5 to 23, Podium Explore transforms into the Stadshart. Every afternoon, a different local scene or community hosts a DIY session under the name Studio Stadshart. One day you can solder guitar pedals, the next you’ll learn how to make your own sourdough starter. And in the evening, unwind with bands, talks, and performances!
*All Stadshart programs are free to attend, with the exception of Dood Paard – 3 x from Moscow + 🖤.
Is there food?
Yes. Pop-up restaurant De Voedselbar serves lunch, dinner, and all-day snacks. The Stadshart is basically your favorite café, just one where there’s always something cool to do or see. It’s also the perfect place to connect with creative scenes, neighbors, friends, and communities from the region. Open daily from 12:00 to 00:00!
