The scheduled performance Formerly Known As by URLAND can unfortunately not go ahead and will be replaced by Bedtime Stories.
Once upon a time there was a boy who watched too many films. He lost himself in the magic of fiction and lost touch with the real world. How do I talk to a woman? Why do I have to die? How can I shape and change reality, just like in my stories? Thomas Dudkiewicz writes and performs Bedtime Stories: a polyphonic solo in the form of a live audio play.
The performance is a séance full of film references, in which he descends like a missionary from his attic room to preach imagination. Storyteller Dudkiewicz tells a story about storytellers telling each other Bedtime Stories, and naturally the tale bites its own tail. Every ending is a new beginning.
Performance collective URLAND developed a custom 8-speaker installation and its own technology especially for this dark fairy tale, giving the sound an extra dimension. The surround soundscape unfolds all around the audience.
