FLOOD THE ZONE WITH SHIT is an interactive audio installation that invites us to care. As a spectator, you literally take a seat inside a room: a room where, between walls of fabric, no one remains, a room where an echo lingers. A second ago it was deafeningly loud here, a bombardment of stimuli and information. The room slowly comes to life, notices it is empty, and tries to understand what is happening. But if we don’t want the room—the zone—to be flooded with shit, then with what? What’s the answer in return?
ask yourself a question
that’s where resistance begins
and then ask that question of someone else.

About the makers
Pauline Augustyn (1995) is an audio creator with a passion for alliteration, stories, and sound. She makes podcasts, radio features, and socio-artistic work. Her audio documentary Une utopie, un mensonge won an award at the Third Coast International Audio Festival and was nominated for the 2023 Prix Europa. Her Le village des fous won the NTR Podcast Prize 2022.
Veerle Van Overloop (1969) creates multidisciplinary theatre at the intersection of reality and fiction as an outlet for the small and large stories she witnesses. This has resulted in works ranging from documentary dance theatre (What Lies Beneath) to the theatrical audio walk One Million People And Me. Her work arises from a synergy of four elements: a poetic, hybrid visual language and narrative; dynamic interaction between performers and audience; a socio-political context; and an anarchic dramaturgy.
