Marieke Ornelis, Mees van Rijswijk, Johannes Lievens & Explore the North - DRIE DAGEN FRIS

Tickets go on sale the 23th of May

Under the banner of DRIE DAGEN FRIS, literary creators / musicians Mees van Rijswijk, Marieke Ornelis, and Johannes Lievens are kicking off a year of experimentation. Through residencies and performances, they’ll get to know each other, stage literature in all its forms, and other stage artists. The first presentation will take place on May 25 at Festival Mirage in Brussels.

A light-hearted, language-driven musical theatre show about finding footing

Literary makers Marieke “earworm” Ornelis, Mees “small hands” van Rijswijk, and Johannes “roadkill deer” Lievens refuse to cut anything from this performance (something they constantly have to do as writers). You’ll get all their brainwaves, sing-alongs, rants, and other textual goo served straight up.

In dark political and ecological times, DRIE DAGEN FRIS explores the things people hold onto — in an effort not to fall over themselves. This search for something to cling to is the jumping-off point for new texts, scenes, songs, and other material. The performances of DRIE DAGEN FRIS offer a playful entry point to rethink important issues like capitalism, gender, and work.

This show is part of the Explore the North Hub. From June 13 to 22, we will present work by talents connected to our production house at various locations across the island. Explore the North is a production house and festival based at Podium Explore in Leeuwarden.
