Can a story save someone?
In Alleen een Wonder (Only a Miracle), Flemish writer and theatre maker Johannes Lievens tells the stories of someone saved by a kiwi plant, someone undone by five numbers, and someone whose life was changed by a meeting at the foot of the Himalayas. Together with drummer Orlan Ghekiere, Johannes embarks on a feverish journey—through nights of searching for something to hold on to.

Two years ago, under the wings of Martha!tentatief, Johannes created The Lonely City (also featured at Explore the North). Johan Petit and Suzanne Grotenhuis also lend their support to Johannes’ writing and performance process in Only a Miracle. At Explore the North, you can see the Dutch premiere of this performance on Friday, November 21.
