in collaboration with Meeuw jonge theatermakers
The new batch of Jonge Schrijvers (Young Writers) showcases their development during this final presentation
The Young Writers of Explore the North and Meeuw Young Theatre Makers will present their brand-new work on Sunday, May 25. From poetry to monologues to prose poems.
The Young Writers are learning to play with language more and more, like an instrument they’re gradually mastering. In the poetry lessons, form is explored freely and creatively. They write poems inspired by Wikipedia articles and news reports, delving into their fascinations and inner worlds. It’s a joy to witness Young Writers beginning to flourish as exceptional poets.
Jonge Schrijvers is the writing program for youth (ages 14–18) by Meeuw jonge theatermakers and Explore the North. The participants develop the basic skills of the writing craft and are introduced to various genres such as playwriting, prose, and poetry, under the guidance of instructors Wessel de Vries and Koen Frijns.
