In The Poetic Powerpoint Presentation, Lotte Lola Vermeer takes you into the wonderful world of the World Wide Web. She dwells on the idea that you don’t have to move around to go anywhere. Through Google Maps, everything is at your fingertips: your home, restaurants, a hairpin turn in Sochi & the ISS. Through reviews, street view and screenshots, Lotte Lola takes you to experience places you are less likely to visit: from a bridge in Kolomna to a crater on the moon.
Lotte Lola Vermeer is a writer, playwright and screenwriter. The Poetic Powerpoint Presentation is part of a larger multimedia project that dances on the boundaries of literature, audio and performance and has multiple elaborations. In the project, Lotte Lola travels both digitally and physically to places where Google street view ends. She pens the experiences she has there in the form of poetic reviews that she posts back on Google Maps.
