Brute folkmusic – the type you didn’t know existed
ERLA and BARTONDISPLAY present a live audio-visual performance combining amalgamated voice and grotesque electronics, in what they call ‘brute folk’ music — unravelling a diffuse story of the body’s experience in actual and virtual worlds, in its beautiful, delirious, ecstatic, and gory nature. The result is a show that dynamically interchanges delicate, narrative moments with intense, club-flirting beats and sonics. BARTONDISPLAY was previously at our 2022 festival and impressed audiences with an intense performance.
