When was the last time you truly stood still?
Not to respond. Not to form an opinion. Instantané is a show where music, text, and imagery come together in a raw, dystopian world. Let yourself be carried into this world without a storyline, but with separate moments. Moments you might recognize — or that only fall into place later. Instantané is a bombastic exercise in stillness.
“I experience the time we live in as a period with little room for reflection. I see this in how quickly we draw conclusions about others, about situations, and about how the world should be. It often feels as though everything has become black and white, while life is made up of so many more colours.
Understanding another person begins with understanding yourself. That takes time and space. Right now it often feels as though our coloured pencils are being taken away: we are expected to draw new lines quickly, without taking the time to fill them in with our own colours.
For me, that colouring begins with recognising moments of meaning: small or large moments that quietly shape the way you move through life. By consciously pausing at those moments, space is created for nuance and for responses beyond the first instinct.
