Following the success of their performance LORCA, about the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, De Poezieboys, poet Joost Oomen, and production house Explore the North dive into the wondrous world of inspiration in their new show GEESTEN (Ghosts).
Everyone encounters inspiration at some point—whether you’re an accountant, a roofer, or an artist. Sometimes, as the saying goes, you get ‘the spirit.’ Artists build their entire existence around this slippery, misty, elusive phenomenon. They search for that spark, that spirit—and they do so in their signature madcap, often hilarious performance style, full of joyful associative leaps, music, and unexpected twists.
GEESTEN premieres on June 14 at Oerol (tickets available from May 23) and will tour theaters from September to November 2025. The show will also be featured at the Explore the North Festival, for which the early bird tickets are now available (until June 1).
