Festival wristbands
To access all festival locations, you’ll need to exchange your ticket for a wristband. You can collect your festival wristband at De Stadskas on the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in Leeuwarden during the festival weekend at the following times:
- Friday, November 22 | 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Saturday, November 23 | 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Sunday, November 24 | 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The official festival opening takes place on Friday, November 22, at 6:30 PM.
Festival Schedule and TimeSquare App
Our complete festival program is now available! Use the schedule to plan your own Explore route during the festival. You’ll receive a physical copy of the schedule along with your wristband at De Stadskas, but for a more sustainable visit, we recommend accessing it digitally or using the TimeSquare app.
Food & Drinks
On November 22, our festival hub De Stadskas will be open from 12:00 PM for food and drinks. Enjoy a delightful dinner at our pop-up restaurant between 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM, or stop by for lunch from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Drinks are also available at other Explore locations throughout the weekend.
Getting There
Leeuwarden is easily accessible by public transport. From Leeuwarden train station, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the city center and most festival venues.
- Parking is available at the Oldehoofsterkerkhof or Zaailand parking garages.

Accessibility
Most Explore locations are wheelchair accessible, except for the Expeditions and the basement of Fire Café. We’re committed to making spaces like Podium Explore as accessible as possible. Please email us at info@explore-the-north.nl in advance to let us know if you’re coming.
