Word art lives – and everyone can know it
The eighth edition of Hoge Woorden (Friesland’s young but already indispensable spoken word platform) will take place on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Stadskas! City poet and host Marrit Jellema once again presents an impressive mix of national word artists and northern talent. Familiar names stand side-by-side with emerging talent. Speaking of: at the end of the evening there will be – in keeping with good spoken word custom – an open mic. Who will dare?
Anyway, at this edition: DE13, Guus van der Steen, Johnny Loves Me, LouLou and Zaïre Krieger. All have one thing in common: they are raw, personal and socially critical.
Do you hear something during the evening that you love, that touches you, or that you completely agree with? In the spoken word scene, as a listener, you are welcome to speak up. Snap your fingers, throw your hands in the air, nod in agreement… Word Arts is alive and well.
