Rock & Roll & Poetry at its finest
Back in 1966, Simon Vinkenoog invited a few poets to Carré. Their dinner consisted of a half chicken and a joint. These poets, including newcomer Jules Deelder, Johnny the Selfkicker, and Vinkenoog himself, performed before a full, enthusiastic, and sold-out Carré. What a theatre temple– a full house for poetry! Is that unthinkable? The Poezieboys disagree.
The Poezieboys is a duo of Jos Nargy and Joep Hendrikx. Together, they’ll be performing some of the best poetry of the moment during Pussynight at Explore the North. The event is inspired by the legendary evening in 1966. Because the world could use a little rock and roll and poetry again. Every Pussynight, they invite different poets with the goal of filling the venue with enthusiastic, sold-out crowds for poetry!
During our festival, you’ll get to experience a one-of-a-kind Pussynight, filled with guests from the festival program. We’ve got Astrid Haerens, Joost Oomen, Sander Deckx, and Nick Feenstra in the lineup.
P.S. The Poezieboys will also be around during this edition of Explore the North Festival performing with Joost Oomen in LORCA.
