Nynke Laverman is a singer, songwriter, and spoken wordartist. She questions life and does not spare herself in the process. Nynke sketches surreal, poetic worlds with mostly acoustic music and earthy lyrics. She gets her inspiration from her travels, which can be heard in her music. Nynke has 7 albums to her name, including her newest, Plant, and theater productions under the same title(s). Her music has been awarded several awards, including an Edison for Nomade.
In 2018, Laverman opened the Leeuwarden-Fryslân Cultural Capitol of Europe program. In the same year, she developed collaborative short film and video-art-projection One of Us. In 2020/2021, Nynke Laverman released the album, Plant, with a slow album release and accompanying podcast.
