Zergüzeşt is a post-rock, prog-rock, and noise-driven project born out of grief, resistance, and reflection. With this project, Yusuf Kemal Öztürk explores the loss of empathy and the sound of a mourning world. Soundscapes blend with raw distortion, protest recordings, and philosophical undertones, drawing inspiration from bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Sigur Rós.
“Zergüzeşt” combines the Ottoman word for “deep story” with the spirit of Zarathustra. It forms both a philosophy and a sound. It is at once a word and an idea — a call to feel, to confront, to question, to remember, and to act. Through noise, ambient textures, field recordings, and fragments of real voices, Zergüzeşt transforms mourning into resistance — and sound into a form of truth
