From November 5th to 23rd, Podium Explore—the home base of Explore the North—transforms into het Stadshart (the Cityheart). For three weekends, we’re opening our doors wide for locals, (festival) visitors, and anyone in need of a dose of hope in confusing times.
Studio for word, deed & disco
In het Stadshart, you’ll find linguistic, festive, cultural, and musical surprises: a story being shared out loud for the very first time, a dish in our pop-up restaurant that brings back the taste of home—and much more. Most of the program is free to attend (with the exception of Dood Paard’s performance on November 7). Even when nothing is scheduled, you’re warmly welcome to drop by for a drink, a good conversation, some relaxed reading, or even a nap. The Stadshart program is created in collaboration with the many cultural and literary initiatives that make Leeuwarden so rich. Wander in, discover new stories, meet fresh faces (young and old), and above all: hold on tight to your little wooden clog of hope—so you can keep it close and warm for a long time to come.
We’ll be announcing more of the program soon! During the festival weekend on November 21, 22 and 23, Het Stadshart will be the place to meet fellow festivalgoers and enjoy a bite to eat.
