Explore The North festival 2025 puts hope back in your emergency kit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to spend three days with you celebrating stories in all their forms. Artists go exploring for places where beauty and love can be found in a growling world. Sing, dance, sweat with us to bring hope back to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recover your energy with writers and playwrights who bring a good morning kiss with the likes of Sinead O’Connor, Spicer’s Martians, and the lovely notion that everyone is needed, if only to keep your Monstera plant alive. Audio-makers tell you how a chance encounter at a bus shelter can change your life. If that’s not enough, there are musicians to get you moving with crushing beats, 2-string basses, harps, soundscapes, spoken word and more. And if all hope proves futile, there are always poets. And you, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like a firefly you’ll swarm past widely different places in the center of Leeuwarden, from churches to cellars and an old prison. Hope is everywhere, as long as you explore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll send you home with a little nugget of hope. Chew on it, put it in the fridge, or plant it in your garden and see what happens.<\/p>\n\n\n
