Love and betrayal between waves and drug violence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fisherman and a criminal get caught up in a dangerous game full of drugs, betrayal and unexpected love. Between the Meshes is a theatrical thriller about survival at sea, based on true facts. How do you stay honest when no one plays by the rules anymore? And how do you preserve your masculinity when your head is reeling for your shipmate?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the Meshes delves into the hidden world of North Sea drug imports. Fishing boats and cartels find each other on open water. Container ships from South America drop their cargo of cocaine, fishing boats pick it up. For the people on board, it’s a life-threatening game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this theatrical thriller, a fisherman and a seasoned criminal take center stage. Two people from completely different worlds, brought together by chance and trade. The sea is rough, the circumstances unpredictable. Customs and cartels are a constant threat. But between the sports bags full of drugs, a spark unexpectedly ignites. Their bond grows, despite all the risks and differences. What begins as cooperation, culminates in something they never expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the Meshes is a story about survival in a world without rules. What do you do when the line between right and wrong becomes blurred? How do you stay true to yourself when the pressure to survive grows ever greater? And what does masculinity still mean in an environment where power and violence rule?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show is written by Nic Bruckman and produced by Bruckman Projects. Their work focuses on true, often extreme events. Events that we would rather not face, but that say a lot about the world we live in. Bruckman dives deep into the subject matter and bases his performances on personal experiences. For this performance, Nic Bruckman himself sailed on fishing boats for weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
