British jazz composer Sarathy Korwar takes you on an instrumental journey throughmeditative melodic drums, rich with Indian influences. MAYTE brings her Fryske alt-pop to Explore the North in a slightly different way, with a special set at DeGrote Kerk. The Poezieboys have become familiar faces at Explore the North, and this year they return for a special festival finale at Podium Explore. One thing is certain: this will be a celebration of poetry to cheer about!

In Het poëtisch orakel by literary-musical platform Dans!Dichter!Dans!, you canask your philosophical, personal questions to a multi-headed oracle. Cynicallycheerful life artist Frans Kalf will have you chuckling along to his brutally honest spoken-word poems. Poet and multidisciplinary artist Emma Tijssen explores, in the literary performance Het gevaar van rechte lijnen, the stories that architecture and urban design tell us. Finally, through the Excite exchange programme, we are teaming up with Popfabryk to bring Danish band Fox Paloma to Leeuwarden. With a generous dose of psych, they’ll take you on a time machine ride back to the sixties.
