Esmé van den Boom (1993) writes prose, poetry and songs. She has performed with text and music at the Frankfurter Buchmesse and on stages and at festivals such as Noorderzon, Dichters in de Prinsentuin, Read My World and Onbederf’lijk Vers. She reached the final of Write Now! 2017 and was invited to attend Zomerkamp with Das Mag. From 2016 to 2017 she was Poet in Residence at the University of Groningen, for which she wrote the collection Zomerwee. She won the Hendrik de Vries stipend from the Municipality of Groningen and used it to publish her debut collection Eigen kamers in December 2019. In November 2026, her premiere All Real Living is Meeting will make its debut at the Explore the North Festival.
