This summer, literary collective Drie Dagen Fris returns to the Oerol Festival for the third time, bringing a brand-new literary pop concert.

How is a pop song born? Does it require an explosion first? Does a spark emerge from a cloud of dust? Drie Dagen Fris takes you inside their literary pop laboratory. We let a text solidify, try to capture extraterrestrial beats, and drill for meaning. Mees, Marieke, and Johannes write and sing about consumption, work, dead female writers, heartbreak, and hunger (backstage). Drie Dagen Fris is literary research you can dance to — and, promised, you’ll still be singing along on the boat ride home.

Mees, Marieke, and Johannes are turning their third Oerol appearance into an absolute celebration. They can’t wait to overwhelm you with new songs and urgent texts. If you’d like to spend a day wandering through a ghost factory, hear a medieval pornographic tale, or discover the charm of the tradwife, come and see the show.

About Drie Dagen Fris
Drie Dagen Fris is the literary collective of Mees van Rijswijk, Marieke Ornelis, and Johannes Lievens. Armed with their pens and a drum machine, they conquer your heart, your language, and your imagination. Starting in October, they will tour theatres across the Netherlands with their new show PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT.

This show is part of the Explore the North Hub. During the Oerol Festival, Explore the North presents work across the island by artists connected to its production house. Explore the North is a production house and festival based at Podium Explore in Leeuwarden.
