Being Lost
We believe in poetry. In the word. In the power and comfort of sentences that lift your soul higher than you could ever have dreamed. That is why, in the Grote Kerk, we are organizing a literary church service for all (non)believers seeking comfort, who would rather live on another planet than on this rotten blue marble, or who now finally want to mend their ways. Have you lost your way? Are you tired of polarizing for the sake of polarizing, hollow phrases, empty one-liners, aggressive exclamation marks and hard stops in your head? This service will irrevocably convert you, whoever you are and whatever you think, to the true power of the word, and teach you how we can use words for good.
The service is under the devoted leadership of Jos Nargy (50% of the Poezieboys), supported by various shining poets of name and fame. Exactly who will be shining their light in the Grote Kerk will be announced soon.

Bob Vanden Broeck is a Flemish writer and notorious tinkerer. He loves birds and is afraid of the job market. In his work, the way we perceive plays an essential role. He has the feeling that, as we look, our eyes are constantly moving through different real and virtual layers. He likes to dive into the space between words and becoming. In 2023, his poetry debut de richting is richting omleiding was published. It was nominated for the C. Buddingh’-prijs 2024 and awarded the Poëziedebuutprijs 2024 and the Debutantenprijs 2025. In April 2026, his debut novel Je zit op een stoel was published by Uitgeverij Koppernik, a kaleidoscopic portrait of someone who, trapped in the monotonous routine of everyday life, tries to get up.
