On Friday, May 2nd, it’s time for the Circle Session Leeuwarden X Zwolle at Podium Explore!
On Friday, May 2nd, Podium Explore will be transformed into a living room full of spoken word during the Circle Session. Up-and-coming spoken word artists from Poetry Circle Zwolle will be visiting and performing alongside the talents of Poetry Circle Leeuwarden, sharing their latest work. We’ll end the evening with an open mic, where everyone (yes, that includes you!) is welcome to grab the mic. Get ready for everything that’s bubbling up in the newest generation of the spoken word scene: powerful metaphors, activist statements, and a whole lot of love. In the lead-up to this Circle Session, we’ll let you know which performers will be on the program. Last year, we hosted Rotterdam, which ended in a conga line through the venue—so brace yourself for some poetic partying!
The Circle Session is a low-threshold, intimate performance night where two Poetry Circles visit each other. The line-up features participants from the Circles, performing either solo or in collaboration. These evenings traditionally conclude with an open mic where all talents are welcome. Circle Sessions help emerging spoken word artists gain stage experience and offer the opportunity to meet fellow artists. It’s the ideal place to start building your creative network!
